Alcoa Automotive in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico presented a US$12,600 grant to the Chipinque Ecological Park for the creation of an interactive learning center for environmental studies. The center will contain a library with specialized materials detailing the care of natural resources. During the check presentation, representatives from the Mexico Environmental Protection Agency and the Natural Resource Agency commended Alcoa for its continued support of the community and its participation with projects such as the Nuevo León State Recycling Committee, the Apodaca City Fire Department, and the Chipinque Ecological Park. In addition to being an information resource to more than 50 students per day, the center will also offer astronomy classes to more than 70 people per month.
