Governor's Safety Award for Alcoa KAMA, Alcoa RFP in Rogers Minnesota

Two Alcoa businesses in Rogers, Minnesota, USA earned Governor’s Safety Awards in recognition of excellent workplace safety records in the state. Alcoa KAMA and Reynolds Food Packaging, the two Alcoa businesses in the state, are two of the 214 employers out of 483 entries that will be recognized at the Governor’s Safety Awards luncheon in May.

Both Alcoa locations will receive the top honor: Meritorious Achievement, which means they had better than average performance in incident rates. Both locations challenge their employees to have zero recordable injuries, to treat co-workers’ safety with the same regard as their own, and to perform each task as safely as possible driving for standardization. To be considered for the award, participants submit injury information that is compared with state and national data as well as the entrant’s past performances. Ongoing safety programs and activities are also considered.
